The Sacrament of the Eucharist
As Catholics, we believe that the Eucharist, or Communion, is both a meal and a sacrifice. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. When we receive Christ’s body and blood, we are also nourished spiritually and brought closer to God.
Preparation for First Communion
Parents are asked to determine readiness to receive Eucharist. The recommended age is second grade level.
First Eucharist will be held on Saturday May 6, 2006 at 10 AM. A parent meeting will be held on Sunday April 9 at 9 AM in Brendan Hall. Instructional classes are scheduled from 7 – 8 PM on Monday April 24 and May 1, and Wednesday April 26 and May 3, and will be held at St. Paul of the Cross Parish Hall.
