The Sacrament of Reconciliation
The sacrament of Reconciliation has three elements: conversion, confession and celebration. In it we find God’s unconditional forgiveness, and as a result we are called to forgive others.
Preparation
The Diocese of Rochester encourages children to make the sacrament of First Reconciliation the same year as First Eucharist. Readiness is determined by the family.
First Reconciliation will be held on Saturday March 18, 2006 at 9:30 AM. Two parent meetings will be held; the first, for parents of children in grades 2 through 5, on Sunday February 12 at 9 AM in Brendan Hall; and the second, for parents of students in middle school and beyond, on Monday February 13 at 7 PM. Three instructional classes for students in grades 2 through 5 will take place at St Paul’s Church Hall at 7 PM on Mondays February 27, March 6 and March 13; two classes will be held for middle school students at 7 PM on February 27 at March 6 At St. Paul of the Cross Parish Hall.
